External Cladding

External Cladding

In recent years we've seen a huge increase in sales of external cladding and we are pleased to offer three main options, all of which have been tanalised to increase their durability and longevity.

Shiplap

The traditional type of external cladding. Ours are usually Scandinavian or Baltic pine and cover around 115mm, with a thickness of approximately 12mm. Lengths vary. These are popular for sheds, summerhouses, man caves, outside bars, dog kennels and the like.

Loglap

Similar to shiplap in that the timber is usually Scandinavian or Baltic in origin. Coverage is around 115mm and thickness is approximately 21mm at the thickest point. Popular for projects such as sheds, summerhouses and man caves.

Heavy Duty Feather Edge

This is a different option entirely to the other two. The origin can vary, but is usually German. It has been cut from new scaffolding boards to create an extra wide, low cost cladding option. This is perfect for use in horse shelters, workshops, man caves and others. Boards are 225mm (covering up to 200mm wide) and approximately 32mm at thicker size. Makes a strong job and is super quick to cover bigger structures. More prone to splits in timber (due to width) so advisable to allow for some wastage when ordering.

PLEASE NOTE:
When using tanalised claddings they can often have a higher moisture content on their arrival to us. This is due to being treated after the machining process. As a result, the timber can be slightly swollen and will shrink slightly as it dries. We therefore recommend that the product is dried before being used, in order to minimise the risk of shrinkage after fitting.
